This hands-on workshop introduces "Collect, Assemble, Gather", the Gordon Smith Gallery’s Fall 2026 exhibition. Participants will use linocut printmaking, rubbing, and image transfer to create an assembled artwork exploring memory, consumer culture, resources, and sustainability, with Social Studies connections.

Print, Repeat, Collect: A Block Printmaking Workshop

Join artist Marlene Yuen for a hands-on block-printing workshop inspired by her artwork Pockets of Time, on exhibit at the Gordon Smith Gallery. You will learn about Marlene’s block-printing process and explore how repetition and collections can be used to tell visual stories. You will learn the fundamentals of transferring an image to linoleum, carving a printing block, and producing a unique print inspired by a meaningful collection.
